PITCH COMPETITION

 

 

The Eerie Horror Fest is an annual 4-day culture and industry event celebrating horror cinema in Erie, Pennsylvania, and we are currently accepting submissions for horror movie pitches! This is a great opportunity for writers and filmmakers to bring their story or idea to life. We welcome all interpretations of the horror genre, from bloody disgusting to hilariously gory, oddly romantic to weirdly feel-good. Submit your pitches by July 31 - we’re trembling with excitement to read your material!

 

The Top 5 projects will be invited to pitch their project, in person, to our industry panel at the Eerie Horror Fest 2022. The judge’s panel will consist of film industry professionals including members of Blood Oath - experts in developing, financing, producing, and distributing cult genre films. The winner of our pitch competition will receive a film development consulting package from Blood Oath that will include 2 sessions, 1 hour each, to discuss the project and give development notes with the possibility of becoming a Blood Oath project.

Eerie Horror Fest 2021 had a packed house for our ‘How to Pitch’ panel that included (from left to right) Marc Blucas (actor), Jacqueline George (former VP of Production at Warner Bros), Aaron B. Koontz (head of Development and Production at Blood Oath), Brandon Hill (Distribution and Acquisitions at Blood Oath), and David Guglielmo (filmmaker). Expect to see some of these same folks plus new industry pros at 2022’s Pitch Competition.

Our regular deadline is approaching fast! Please submit by June 30^th to receive our regular pricing. If you miss the June deadline, don’t worry, you can still submit by July 31^st to qualify for our late deadline.

We want to read the first 5 pages of your Narrative Feature Script and Pitch Deck.

Please send your written submissions in English. If your video is in another language, also include English subtitles. To send any scripts, videos, images, decks, or other materials, email us a private link (Google Drive, Dropbox, OneDrive) at info@eeriehorrorfest.com. More than one project may be submitted, under a separate submission entry.

If your project is chosen, you’ll be invited to 2022’s Eerie Horror Fest to pitch your idea to our panel of judges. We will provide one free room at a hotel for you for the duration of the Eerie Horror Fest so you can also enjoy our other events, film screenings, and meet this year’s celebrity guests.

ABOUT THE FEST

The 2022 Eerie Horror Fest will be held in the historic 2,250 seat Warner Theatre in downtown Erie, Pennsylvania from Wednesday, October 5^th – Saturday, October 8^th.

Celebrating the 100^th anniversary, opening night will feature a screening of the 1922 silent film, Nosferatu, with a solo live pipe organ performance. The following three nights will include a curated program of new, upcoming, and classic short and feature length films, celebrity guests participating in live, in-person Q&As as well as autographs and photo opportunities, plus panels, workshops, artists, vendors, and more.
