ScreenwritingCommunity.net was created by Bill Donovan, who saw a need to connect aspiring screenwriters with the services you need to succeed.
ScreenwritingCommunity.net is the online headquarters for Bill’s screenwriting help books and the new proofreading service, Script Readiness Reports. This app provides in-depth proofreading of your script and delivers the results in minutes.

Bill Donovan
Editor and Manager
Bill Donovan is the former editor and publisher of Creative Screenwriting Magazine; former executive producer of the Screenwriting Expo; the former manager of two annual screenplay contests, a scene-writing contest, and a logline contest; and the producer of 10 educational DVDs for screenwriters.
He is the author of five reference books for screenwriters, including Sell Your Screenplay – The Directory of Producers, Agents, and Managers Who Will Look at Your Unsolicited Query or Script, with 2,000+ copies sold.
He holds a Master of Fine Arts degree in Screenwriting and Filmmaking from the University of Southern California.
He is also a former news reporter and editor with the Associated Press, daily newspapers, and trade journals, and won or co-won five national business journalism awards.
Two of his own spec screenplays won first prizes in three student screenwriting competitions at USC. He has had agents represent his screenplays twice (but, alas, no sales).
The Origin of Script Readiness Reports
For several years, Bill provided screenplay and teleplay story analysis and proofreading services to screenwriters. He helped writers improve well over 100 screenplays and teleplays.
Clients’ testimonials about his story analysis and proofreading, many of them unsolicited, can be seen on the Bill’s Testimonials page.
That work was rigorous and intense, but the pay was low per hour. At the same time, $100+ for proofreading or $200+ for both proofreading and story analysis was a lot of money to an aspiring screenwriter.
So, Bill created the Script Readiness Report app to do the proofreading part better, much faster, and at a tenth of the going rate for screenplay proofreading.
